Manufactured at the company’s production facility in Zaragoza, Spain, the cranes will be mounted on lightweight passenger and material rail vehicles and predominantly used to lift and unload materials such as rail tracks and sleepers. Features include the company's Automatic Duty Control (ADC) system, which can boost capacities by up to 10 percent, as well as its HiConnect telematics system which uses real time data to provide information on utilisation, operation and machine condition. It offers a maximum tip height of 15 metres and can handle 1,060kg at its maximum radius of 12.9 metres. It can handle its maximum capacity of 4.7 tonnes at a radius of 3.3 metres and at a height just over 11 metres. Based on Hiab’s 19 tonne/metre X-HiPro 192 and its 11.3 tonne/metre X-HiDuo 118, it has been modified for railway maintenance use. The Hiab X-Rail 192 is the first model in a new range of loader cranes aimed at railway infrastructure companies. The units are part of a tender won by Prosutec and Air Rail to supply maintenance trains that will replace a number of older crane trucks. The Spanish railway infrastructure administrator Adif (Administrador de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias) has ordered 37 railway variant Hiab X-Rail 192 loader cranes in a deal worth €1.7 million.
